What Does Divisible Mean?
A number is divisible by another number when you can divide it and have nothing left over. 360 is divisible by 6 because 360 ÷ 6 = 60 exactly. The leftover is called the remainder, and for a divisible number it is 0.

Worked Examples
Common mistakes
- Ignoring the remainder. A decimal answer such as 62.5 means the number is not divisible.
- Checking only the last digit for everything. That works for 2, 5 and 10, but not for 3, 9 or 11.
- Mixing up the order. "Is 6 divisible by 360?" is a different question from "Is 360 divisible by 6?"
